A Birmingham burger chain has started construction in Prattville and is already eyeing another location in Montgomery.
Milo’s Hamburgers started work this week on a new Cobbs Ford Road restaurant, in front of Lowe’s. It plans to open in April and will employ about 40 people.
The chain said another Milo’s will open in Montgomery later this year, but the location wasn’t announced. Every store is corporate-owned.
“We chose Prattville because of the solid community and frankly because we’ve had a lot of requests for Milo’s to come here,” Milo’s CEO Tom Dekle said. “We listen to the folks who write in on our website or contact us on social media, asking us to come to their community. As we approached expansion, Prattville and Montgomery were high on our list.”
Milo’s has 14 locations around Birmingham and one in Tuscaloosa, serving up made-to-order burgers, hand-breaded chicken tenders, and more. They have a full breakfast menu featuring biscuits, Conecuh sausage and cinnamon rolls. The chain also specializes in hand-spun shakes.
