Milo’s opens in Prattville

After months of preparation, Birmingham burger chain Milo’s served up its first food from the new Prattville location on Wednesday.

Milo’s has 14 locations around Birmingham and one in Tuscaloosa serving made-to-order burgers, hand-breaded chicken tenders, and more. They have a full breakfast menu featuring biscuits, Conecuh sausage and cinnamon rolls. The chain also specializes in hand-spun shakes.

The Prattville restaurant is at 2305 Cobbs Ford Road in front of Lowe’s and features a custom drink station and sauce bar. It employs about 40 people.

If you’re one of the first 100 dine-in customers through the door during the first three days, you’ll get a free gift. The first 100 on April 27 get a Milo’s hat; the first 100 on April 28 get a coupon to try nine different menu items; and the first 100 on April 29 will get a “Stay Saucy, Prattville” poster.

The chain plans to open a location in Montgomery later this year.

“We chose Prattville because of the solid community and frankly because we’ve had a lot of requests for Milo’s to come here,” Milo’s CEO Tom Dekle said. “We listen to the folks who write in on our website or contact us on social media, asking us to come to their community. As we approached expansion, Prattville and Montgomery were high on our list.”

Paragon Construction handled the project. The building was designed by Hendon & Huckestein Architects of Birmingham.
