In honor of March Madness, we shared our Alabama fast-food bracket, featuring an Elite 8 of restaurants that we felt represented some of the best of the state’s very best options when you’re on the go.
We set up voting via our social media accounts’ stories, and readers did the rest of the work. You also shared your, um, highly opinionated thoughts about which places deserved the honor via Facebook and Twitter.

Between Checkers (founded in Mobile!), Foosackly’s, Guthrie’s, Hamburger Heaven, Jack’s, Milo’s, Sneaky Pete’s and Taco Casa, we let you whittle down the list and to pick the state’s go-to spot.
The Final Four were Milo’s, Checkers, Jack’s and Taco Casa. The finals came down between Milo’s and Jack’s, with Milo’s narrowly winning in true “This is March” fashion.
